RacerThe Mind-Controlled Grand Prix

Slot-car racing driven by concentration alone. Two players, two headbands, no controllers — the harder you focus, the faster you go.

How it plays

01

Headbands on

Two players, one each side of the track. Each wears an EEG headband that reads their focus.

02

Focus is the throttle

No triggers, no controllers. The harder you concentrate, the faster your car goes. Lose focus and it slows.

03

First across the line

The crowd watches both minds race in real time. Winner takes the flag, the next pair is already queuing.

Two ways to race

Ready to race

The Racer circuit

Our own track, cars and headbands, set up on your stand or at your event and run by our crew. Quickest to book.

  • Head-to-head racing
  • Live focus readout for the crowd
  • Your branding on the stand

Built for you

A bespoke world

A circuit designed around your brand, your city or your event theme, then built by hand in our workshop: scenery, landmarks, branded cars, gantries and pit buildings.

  • Concept visualisation first
  • Cars in your livery
  • Scenery made for the brief

Bespoke worldbuilding

From visualisation to the workshop bench.

Every bespoke circuit starts as a visualisation we agree with you, then gets built by hand — down to the people in the grandstand.

Questions people ask

Is this Scalextric?
It's the slot-car racing everyone remembers from Scalextric, with the controllers taken away. Each player wears an EEG headband, and the more focused they are, the faster their car goes. Racer is an Arcade Strange invention; Scalextric is a trademark of Hornby.
Can we hire mind-controlled Scalextric for our event?
Yes. Racer is available to hire in the UK and Europe for trade shows, conferences, brand activations and parties, including Christmas parties. Our crew delivers, installs and runs it. Choose a bespoke circuit built around your brand, city or event, or Racer Compact for smaller stands. 458 people raced it over two days at UNLEASH Paris.
How big is the track?
The bespoke circuit is 2.75m × 1.22m and sits in a plinth your stand builder makes to our spec. Racer Compact is 1.5m × 1.22m and comes on its own plinth, so there's nothing to build. Both play at 750–800mm high and run from one standard 13A socket.
